Borrum 23rd 1518 TH
The Circle Of Dawn have managed to slay several cultist just outside their hideout. Unfortunately one of them escaped into the tree, now the benefit of surprise has been lost. They did manage to capture one of the Cultist a T’Skrang Wizard called Mehkiss, he would rather die than reveal anything about the cult. The group persisted to try and interrogate the cultist, but he just kept on shouting out the virtues of Raggok, after a short discussion Fendrak breaks his neck.
Vinnessa checks out the entrance in the tree trunk and see’s that there are some crudely cut stairs going down around the tree roots. The group now prepare themselves for what they deem to be the Horns of Vengeance hideout and probably more cultists to slay. The group slowly, and quietly move down the stairs in single file due to the tightness of the stairwell.Kallias then casts Shadow Whisper and can hear a number of T’Skrang chanting.
Vinessa who is at the front of the group sneaks in, hoping to go undetected, sneaks in to the lair. She sneaks behind a pillar and sees a large chamber with a fast flowing river through the middle of the cavern. At the Far side is what appears to be an alter and she can just make out T’Skrang hiding behind the four pillars on the other side of the cavern.
As the last person in the group enters the room, standing before them some 4 meters tall is Raggok an beacons for the group to come and join him.
Join in Life, or Join in Death either way you will join with me.
At that Raggok then appears to be about to cast some spell on the group when Thustonius appears in front of raggok in a blinding flash of yellow light and bellows at Raggok
Rashomon you know you can not interfere in Name Givers affairs so directly. You truly are a coward, using your powers in this way. Go back to where you belong, back with the horrors and undead that you so covert. Leave this place now before I call upon the powers of banishment as will be my right should you decide to continue to flagrantly ignore the pact of the Passions.
To which Raggok responds
You fool! You with your Questors who bend over backwards just to lick your boots. We have the power to control this world, yet you sit back and watch. You do what with your powers? Offer trinkets to your Questors who accept them as a baby accepts it’s mother’s teat. They are ours to rule, to control. This world is ours, nay, it is mine to twist into whatever I please. You can’t stop me. You have imposed your own rules, those rules do not bind me and they will not stop me.
Use your Questors, your Kings and your Dragons. All the might you can muster can not stop what has already begun. You fear the end that you have seen, and you are helpless to put an end to it. Isineke has grown strong under my cloud and will become my iron fist of destruction and I will stand their and laugh as Isineke rips out your heart. Then this world will tremble, beg and kneel before me at the dawn of the new age. One Passion, One True Ruler of all, this world will be mine.
At that Tystonius slams her staff to the floor, out of which a blinding ball of yellow light envelopes both off the Passions and then they are gone. Leaving behind four T’Skrang Cultist of Raggok and a Blood Elf, that the group saw the previous day conversing with the T’Skrang of House Syrtis. The group slay the four cultists but the Blood Elf managers to escape.
I allowed Kallias to roll too many times for Partencraft Half magic to determine what spells the Blood Elf Nethermancer was casting. I started doing this just so he would know what minimum level the Blood Elf was. However I had him roll every time rather than for spells of higher circles. However this then ended up with it becoming somewhat meta with Kallias trying to use Dispel Magic when the Blood Elf cast Shadow Meld.
Firstly I used the spell incorrectly for her movement, but that didn’t really impact anything negatively as it was supposed to just up the ante in the combat. But by allowing a check on the spell cast it allowed Kallias to read up about said spell and try and devise a counter. I ruled against Dispel Magic actually working in this situation as you have to be able to see the target. As the target is actually moving through Astral Space then the target can not be seen. Kallias then made an assumption that he could use Astral Sight to see and then use Dispel Magic. I ruled against this also, as the Target even though it can seen in Astral Space can not be targeted with the spell.
